Sunday Fantasy Football Primer: Week 4

Welcome to week 4 of this NFL season. Ratings are booming on Thursday nights, the games are good, football is football again. If you weren’t aware, I’ll be taking in the scenery at Soldier Field watching the Bear’s defensive line eat Ryan Fitzpatrick alive. Please, blog, may I have some more?

Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 4: Da Bears!

What’s going on everyone, and welcome to another fantastic fall Saturday as we draw closer to another Sunday full of NFL football! Week 4 got off to a great start on Thursday night thanks to the high-powered offenses of the Rams and Vikings, and we should be in for some more exciting football tomorrow.

Let’s get to it!

Daily Fantasy Strategy, Week 4: 5 Wide

Well, the first 3 weeks have just flown by and we’re almost done with Alvin Kamara as the solo RB on a team that throws 44 times a game, along with Michael Thomas ridiculous more TDs than incompletions. And even though you may think you know exactly what’s going to happen, projections like the ones here at Razzball will do a few things. First, they give you that base you need to make sure you’re not doing anything wildly stupid. Secondly, they give you options and other play ideas. You’ll notice that a sometimes I say that Rudy’s projections love a guy, and i’m not sure why but we go with it anyway. It’s because the projections take into account way more variables than our human brains can. The other thing that we’ve seen from the first 3 weeks, and it meshes with my philosophy – #NeverRun #AirRaid.

On to the picks…

Handcuff Reports: Bad Boyz of Week 4

Ladies and Gentleman, Happy Friday! The first quarter of the NFL season is coming to a quick close. We are reaching a point in the season where we will start to see teams and players take off. It’s well documented, with how the NFL pre-season is treated, that September is a slow start for teams. The Patriots are a prime example. I see team owners on twitter freaking out and jumping ship on players that they invested a lot of draft capital.

In the wise words of William Wallace,”Hold…Hold…Hold.” I understand, easier said than done if you are staring at a 0-3 start and losing studs to injury. Speaking first hand, I am still holding on to Chris Hogan and Derrick Henry but time is running out. Don’t get me wrong, I have dropped both players in various leagues but not giving up 100% stock. All I’m suggesting is don’t get “too cute” yet and drop players just to pick up a RB4, WR4/5 that had one good week while your team is just warming up. I would not drop Hogan or Henry for, let’s just say, Aldrick Robinson who had two receiving touchdowns in the TNF Vikings @ Rams game. After this week we will get a green light on dropping some of these players.

I’ll get off my soap box and get to the Bad Boyz of week 4 but if you have questions, on guys you are fighting with dropping or keeping on your roster, leave a note in the comments or @ me on twitter.

Alright let us get to it, we have a few new offenders to present to you this week. Also, we have a clearer picture and update on repeat offenders with a couple getting released on good…bad behavior.

Daily Fantasy Strategy, Week 4: Positional Wastelands

Passing offense is up. That might be at the price of rushing production. There’s plenty of time for things to balance, but this seems like a trend more than a fluke. Running back is currently a wasteland. Pay for the top options, like Melvin Gordon, with guaranteed volume and safe floors. Please, blog, may I have some more?

Pod Sack The Queen Podcast: Week 4 Preview

We are back for another week of line up preparation for you. Rudy is in double down mode and I respect the hell of of it. I do a little bit of heavy stacking on one game? Who are these players that we like? You’ll have to listen to find out! As a special bonus, we recorded this podcast while watching the Vikings and Rams game so there were random outbursts. This was our best episode yet!

Week 4 Reids: All-en All, Jerry Wants To Marryota Dak

Heading into Week 4, we can all agree on one thing: Josh Allen looks absolutely amazing in shorts. He is fully trusting the process the Bills and Sean McDermott have been preaching. The Titans currently have zero healthy QB’s, but that won’t stop them from being tied for the division lead in the AFC South. Please, blog, may I have some more?

Fantasy Football Weekly Rankings, Week 4: Brought to You by the Letter “J”

Accuracy Overall QB RB WR TE K DST
Week 3 68 40 60 70 121 33 37
Week 2 53 60 6 88 137 48 29
Week 1 12 6 50 47 30 78 78
2018 20 6 16 67 123 41 39

What are my rankings bona fidas? Well, there’s finishing in the FantasyPros Top-10 Draft Accuracy (7th Place) in 2017, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy (23rd Place) in 2017, Top-5 Draft Accuracy (3rd place) in 2016, Top-10 Weekly Accuracy (10th Place) in 2016, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy in 2015 (21st Place) and on average we’ve finished in the Top-10 Draft Accuracy (9th Overall) and the Top-20 Weekly Accuracy (18th Overall) for the past three years. I’d like to think we’re pretty good at this stuff…

What does the word bona fidas mean? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, bo·na fi·des \ ˌbō-nə-ˈfī-ˌdēz , ÷ˈbō-nə-ˌfīdz \ means 1 : good faith : sincerity, 2 : the fact of being genuine —often plural in construction, 3 : evidence of one’s good faith or genuineness —often plural in construction, 4 : evidence of one’s qualifications or achievements —often plural in construction. On a separate note, I think it would make a great name for a cat.

What’s my ranking process? I’ve actually written about this in the past, and instead of working hard for new and enlightening content, I have chosen the more efficient (lazy, ahem) method and dropping in a link to that post here. Honestly, my process hasn’t changed much at all (the ole “don’t fix what ain’t broke” proverb comes to mind) and so my “A Day in the Life of a Fantasy Football Ranker” story still remains relevant to this day. (The TL;DR is: I’m ghetto as fudge. Well, I mean the other “f” word, but I’m hungry.)

How should I use your rankings? The same way your mother does. Which actually makes no sense. (Unless your mother is in the running to always finish top-3 in your Fantasy Football league. And if that’s the case, say hello to her for me.)
